FDA - COVID PANDEMIC IS OFFICIALLY OVER

"..... it is time to accept that the presence of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, is the new normal. It will likely circulate globally for the foreseeable future, taking its place alongside other common respiratory viruses such as influenza." ... Journal of American Medical Association 

Writing in the JAMA on 2 May 2022, Drs.Peter Marks, Janet Woodcock and Robert Califf, all ranking officials of the FDA, basically declared the pandemic is officially over.

Covid-19 should now be treated just as for flu. This has been the recommendation of thousands of physicians all over the world for the past two years. Of course, FDA doubled up on the success of the vaccines, claiming these were based on foundational and clinically researched process, and which have saved tens of thousands all over the world, but remained silent on the massive adverse effects, sudden deaths, and long term health issues many are now dealing with. They claimed the 3rd booster shot offers much longer protection, but regretted only 45% have taken the booster in US, a sign that vaccine fatigue has prevailed.

Going forward, FDA sees continued risks due to 3 factors - (1) waning immunity from prior vaccine or prior infection, (2) further evolution of SARS-CoV-2, and (3) seasonality of respiratory virus infection.

The love affair with vaccine continues, however. as "society is moving toward a new normal that may well include annual COVID-19 vaccination alongside seasonal influenza vaccination."
